Compiling everything else here because Medium doesn’t let me post more than three times per day smh.

Week 7!

First consultation for our final assignment (or well the progress for it). Here is the Google Doc we made for our proposal!

Part 1
Part 2

Week 9!

Continuation of our progress! So, one of our interactive concepts was to make the apparel we touch produce sound, and because I didn’t want to get into trouble by using copyrighted music, I took it upon myself to make my own.

Song 1
Song 2
Song 3
Song 4

Each song is about 9 seconds and they’re mainly composed by using samples (the blue ones) provided by Logic Pro. I just add in drums, percussion, and piano if necessary. They’re pretty simple, and it took me 30mins in total to make all 4 songs, but I think they sound pretty good. They’ll be looped over and over in the final presentation.

Week 10!

Presentation day! As preparation for our presentation, I met up with Caroline about a few days before just to set up our installation in a random empty classroom (it ended up being 5–11 at Wing B I think). There was a big TV screen there that I wanted to use as the display but it was locked through a lecturer’s name and so I couldn’t access it :(. But oh well! We made do with what we had, which was our two laptops and the tables and chairs strewn around the classroom. Anyways for progress presentation day, I had Xi Rui edit our video to have a title and so that was what we showed. Here are some pics Caroline took when we set up our proposal in that empty classroom :D

My head looks so big
All these shirts are mine btw

Week 11!

Apparently we were supposed to have a physical lesson, but it had to be change to online due to some issues. Anyways at least we got to be introduced to a different app this time! The name of it is VidVox and omg when I first opened it I didn’t even know where to look. There are so many buttons and I got so confused.

Like what do these windows even DO?? Though I guess when our lecturer gave a demonstration it didn’t seem too hard, but still… my mind blanked the moment I opened VidVox.

Week 12!

Physical lesson today, but I don’t even remember what I did LMAO. I think I just showed my groupmates how I made the music play when you touch the shirts as mentioned in week 10, and how Scratch is pretty simple to use.

Edit: We were introduced to BBC’s Makebit! Pictures courtesy of Caroline because I was too busy messing around with the thing to even take pics.

Our immature asses decided to design d*cks that pulsate like the heart, and personally I am no fan of the male genitalia but it was pretty funny LMFAO. I don’t have an pics of it though sadly :(, but also we couldn’t find a use of the Makebit for our final but it was still fun playing with it.

Week 13!

Uhh neither of my groupmates could attend class and so I didn’t either. Figured there was no point in coming for discussion if there’s no one to talk to :(.

Week 14!

Final lesson before submission. We used the time we had to talk about how we should present our installation on Week 16. I also bought extension wires since the length of the alligator clips aren’t long enough, and I’ve also gotten more alligator clips just in case we need them. I’m in charge of the technical stuff, Xi Rui is going to add in more animated illustrations, and Caroline will be figuring out how the video is gonna be an interactive part of our installation. Finally on the Monday of Week 16, we’ll be setting it up in the morning and hope that it doesn’t take us the whole 3 hours to finish recording everything.

Week 15!

No class ehe.
